Get Your Audi Inspected at Audi Beverly Hills

Most drivers want their vehicles to last as long as possible. Sometimes, you might not even know when something is wrong with your vehicle because it's not immediately noticeable. That's where state inspections come in! At Audi Beverly Hills, we offer state inspections to drivers in Santa Monica and North Hollywood. Our staff of Audi-trained technicians run a series of tests and checks to ensure your car is in top shape and ready for the roads of Los Angeles.

If you're looking for an Audi inspection in Costa Mesa, we're an easy drive up I-405 to I-10 and we have appointments available via scheduling. You can call us or schedule an appointment through our online scheduling form.

How Often Should You get Your Audi Inspected?

An inspection in California is not required annually but to ensure that your Audi is road-ready, we highly recommend you have one completed. Not only are they required by state law in most states, but they are also important to the safety of you and other drivers in Beverly Hills. Here is a list of items we can check when we inspect your Audi:

  • Lights- including Headlights, Tail Lights, Directional Signals and Hazards
  • Brakes
  • Steering
  • Suspension
  • Fuel System
  • Tires and Wheels- this includes the tires having sufficient tread
  • Horn
  • Windshield/Doors/Windows- The windshield needs to be free of cracks and dings, so you can see without obstruction
  • Windshield Wipers/Defroster
  • Exhaust System
  • Seats/Seatbelts/Airbags
  • Floorpan/Body
  • Emissions System
  • Engine Compartment/Undercar

Although an inspection that covers these items isn't required, the state of California does require a 'Smog Check' every two years for some counties, including Los Angeles. Smog inspections are required unless your vehicle is:

  • Gasoline Powered 1975 Year Model or Older
  • Diesel Powered 1997 Year Model and Older or with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating of More than 14,000 pounds
  • Electric
  • Natural Gas Powered with a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating of More than 14,000 pounds
  • Motorcycle

If your Audi is six years or younger, you aren't required to provide biennial smog certification. Once you get outside of those six years, state law requires that every two years, you get your vehicle inspected for emissions.

Even though standard equipment inspections aren't required, it's something that we believe is imperative to keeping the roads safe for all drivers.

What Happens if I Don't Get My Audi Inspected?

For drivers in West Hollywood who don't get an inspection performed for their vehicle, a few things can happen. Without getting an inspection done, you will not receive a sticker that goes on your windshield to show the month and year required for your next inspection. Without this sticker, you risk getting pulled over and fined as it is required by law that you have an updated one on display.

To avoid incurring fines, all you have to do is make sure you pay attention to the renewal notice that is sent to you via mail because it will inform you if a smog certification is required.
