It wasn’t enough for Audi to just produce the A5 coupe. These days, luxury automakers are under pressure to build more niche models than ever, and the all-new 2018 S5 Sportback is something of a double header. A five-door coupe hatchback, it also prioritizes performance thanks to a meaty turbocharged V6 with 354 horsepower, 369 lb-ft of torque.
Thanks to the turbocharger, the S5 Sportback offers a broad power band starting at 1,370 RPM and staying present up through 4,500. This enables the Quattro AWD equipped hatch to sprint to 60 in 4.5 seconds. Like many other new Audi models, the S5 Sportback also comes with Drive Select, which enables the driver to customize suspension, throttle response, and steering feel to the desired feel—not to mention goodies like Virtual Cockpit, Audi MMI, and the S Sport package. Complimenting all these goodies is unique practicality: the Sportback boasts up to 35 cu-ft of cargo space with the seats folded.
