How Does Audi Active Lane Assist Work?

Audi active lane assist constantly monitors your path as you drive from Los Angeles to Santa Monica, providing steering guidance if it detects you drifting from your lane. The system uses a camera to detect all of the following road occurrences, creating a virtual path to guide your vehicle on: 


  • Lane markings

  • Roadside structures

  • Vehicles in adjacent lanes 

When Is Audi Active Lane Assist Enabled? 

As you travel through Hollywood and Culver City, active lane assist is only operative when you're driving at speeds above 40 mph. If your vehicle is approaching a lane marker without the turn signal on to indicate that you're entering a turning lane or switching lanes, active lane assist will provide a gentle nudge back into your lane using electromechanical power steering. Drivers can also choose to receive an extra warning when they're leaving the lane through a vibration in the steering wheel.
